Project

We are building this in public. Including the part where things break.

Roadmap, active phase, validation and progress live here without turning the site into a GitHub mirror. When something is still a hypothesis, draft or research, it is shown that way.

Phase 2 · Reproducible ISO

Prove that the Felunyx foundation can become a reproducible ISO that boots, installs and comes back through GRUB without pretending the rest already exists.

Validation
RRemote
In progress — source, tests, manifests, builds and remote evidence.
VVirtual
Pending — boot, installation, reboot and integration still need to close the gate.
HHardware
Not required to close Phase 2, but still queued for physical testing.
What changed

Recent progress without dumping raw commit logs on you.

Highlights are curated here. Raw commits stay on GitHub for anyone who genuinely wants “fix: align live initrd paths” with breakfast.

Implemented

The primary identity is now the F.

The lynx remains the mascot and secondary emblem. The primary mark stays simple enough to work from favicon to splash.

Planned

The compositor strategy became less self-destructive.

The plan now starts from a mature Wayland foundation and keeps what actually defines the experience in Felunyx: workspaces, layouts, focus, stacks, restoration and policy.

In development

The ISO boot failure stopped being “something broke”.

The problem was traced to microcode/initrd paths that did not exist in the final image. The fix remains in a Phase 2 PR until the right gates pass.

Roadmap

From a minimal ISO to a distro we can actually maintain.

A phase is not a calendar, and a higher number does not mean a more important feature. It closes when the evidence it promises actually exists.

Want to check the boring part? It is still all open.

The site explains. The repository remains where decisions, architecture, diffs, PRs and technical evidence actually live.
