    Whiskers

The native desktop environment we are building for Felunyx OS.

In developmentPhase 2 · Reproducible ISO skeleton

A desktop designed as one experience.

    Adaptive organization

The workspace follows the work at hand without forcing every flow into the same session shape.

    Coherent integration

Windows, shell, Settings, and platform services share a direction instead of accumulating accidental overlap.

    Personal by design

Appearance and behavior can reflect the person using the system while keeping choices understandable.

Different ways to organize the same session.

Whiskers explores Workspaces, Floating, Snap, Tiling, Rolling, Monocle, and stacks as organization modes that can coexist in one experience.

Shell and interaction share the same direction.

The direction includes a taskbar, launcher, overview/Atlas, and Settings integration. These are product intentions for the native environment, not shipped capabilities.

    Personalization without losing coherence.

Visual tokens, density, surfaces, and preferences should carry continuity from shell to applications without reducing personalization to a detached theme.

Clear boundaries for a whole experience.

Compositor/policy, shell, Settings, and platform services are distinct boundaries. The provisional compositor foundation supports experiments; it is not the Whiskers product.

Playground tests interaction concepts in a browser simulation; it does not represent a native Whiskers implementation.
