The native desktop remains outside the critical path for the first Felunyx release. That makes it possible to research the technical foundation without turning a promising choice into a release requirement.
D-105 accepted the general direction of reusing a mature compositor foundation. D-106 records cosmic-comp as a provisional research direction, not as a frozen final contract.
The goal is to reuse what is already mature in the Wayland ecosystem and focus original Felunyx work on the policies, interactions, and integration that actually distinguish the system.
